Once dried and varnished, I applied gold leaf to the edges and attached a cork disc to the bottom of the plaque.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe keepsake plaque measures 8cm wide and a few mm thick. Each will be slightly different as they are handmade. A natural cork disc is attached to the base, so the plaque can sit flat on a shelf or surface without scratching. The warm cork against the gold edge gives it a nice finished look. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDelivered free in the UK, wrapped with love in tissue with bonus freebies.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI also made a little card to go with it that says:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eToday you made me a Midwife \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eThank you for being my 40th birth, and helping to make me a midwife.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you'd like a bigger card with space to write a message, I have created 5 designs of postcard with envelope that either say 'I made a midwife' or 'Thank you for making me a midwife.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eWhat do other student midwives give to their 40th birth family?\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMany student midwives like to mark their 40 births with a small gift or card for the family involved.
