I've created this blood is magical colouring affirmation page to offer as part of a menarche gift set - and I'm adding as a download here too so that women who run menarche workshops and positive period circles for girls can buy with a licence to print and give as paper handouts.
Menarche circles (sometimes called First Moon Circles) are gatherings to celebrate and educate young girls as they approach menarche, which is a woman's very first menstrual period.
You can download this colouring affirmation page and print out to include in your handouts for girls who come to your celebrations and education sessions.
Did you know the word "period" was introduced by 19th-century male doctors as a clinical euphemism to avoid saying words like blood or uterus out loud? Historically, it was even classified under dictionary definitions for "disease."
These colouring pages are designed to be part of helping to break that legacy of secrecy and shame. By shifting the language to terms like "my cycle" or "moon time," we reconnect young women to the natural, powerful rhythm of their own bodies. Perfect for first moon circles, body-literacy education, or a beautiful rite-of-passage gift, help transform a clinical taboo into a sacred celebration of anatomical magic.
