How to Honour Birth Anniversary: Postpartum Rituals for Doulas and Birthkeepers (PDF)

This digital download is my favourite suggestions for honouring the journey we went through on the anniversary of our births - with a license for doulas, midwives and birth workers to include in client handouts.
Whether our births are joyful or traumatic - they deserve to be honoured. And not just straight after - but year after year. We'll never forget our births, and we deserve to be asked how we feel about it and to have our story heard - no matter how long ago it was. What we've experienced seems too easily forgotten and dismissed in our society.
I don't think it's right that the anniversary of our child's birth is all about celebrating them! What about us mummies? ☺️ We deserve to be celebrated for all the hard work we went though to conceive, grow and birth that baby. And if no-one else wants to celebrate us then we can honour ourselves 💕
It's my second child's birth anniversary this week, and I'm going to be establishing some rituals and traditions for myself and us as a family that we'll do every birthday.
And in the interests of encouraging other birthing people and mothers to honour themselves in the same way, I'm making a poster about it 😊
