Vulva Anatomy Diagram PDF

Download an A4 watercolour diagram of the vulva: the area on the outside of a women's genitals, which includes the clitoris and the labia - which has an inner and outer set of lips. The vagina and the anus are separate to the vulva. Plus a bonus unlabelled version and separate labels to use as an antenatal class activity.

Vulvas come in all shapes and sizes, and the way they look can change over time.

The vulva includes the mons pubis - the rounded area in front of the pubic bones that becomes covered with hair at puberty.

The vulva has two folds of skin or 'lips' - the outer folds are called the labia majora and the inner folds are called the labia minora. These skin folds protect the opening of the urethra and the vagina. The urethra is the tube that carries wee out of the body.

The inner folds of the vulva form a hood of skin over the clitoris - a sensitive area that swells with blood and feels pleasurable when stimulated.

At the bottom of the inner folds is the fourchette, where the inner labia meet. Below the fourchette is the perineum, which is also part of the vulva. The perineum ends at the anus.
